A pretty misses top Circa 1881. For afternoon visiting or walking, worn while paying calls on friends and neighbours. It should be made of practical fabrics in shades of navy, brown or dark green to conceal dust, soot or mud. The self-fabric ruched trim is at the collar, elbows and hemline. Bows of contrast fabric are at the neckline and back. The top has formfitting seams, opens down the front and is underlined with cotton. McCall's Sewing pattern, design by Angela Clayton
