How did you first get interested in sewing and making clothes?
I just told my family one night that I was a dressmaker. I just knew it.

What’s the first thing you ever made, and how did it turn out?
I made a dress for my sister, Samantha. It was made from scraps and ribbons I found in my Mom’s studio.

What do you love most about designing and sewing your own outfits?
Draping and sewing are probably my favourite parts. I also love to see my dresses on models.

Where do you get your inspiration for your amazing creations? Do you have a favorite designer or style?
I get inspiration from everywhere, from my environment and traveling. I love the ocean. My favorite designers are Pamella Roland and Elie Saab I think.

What’s the most exciting project you’ve worked on so far?
I made a dress out of candy and candy wrappers and that was really fun!

Do you have a favourite fabric or colour to work with? And why do you like it so much?
I like fluffy fabrics like chiffon, silk and organza. I also like extra soft faux fur for jackets. And my favorite fabric right now is Tencel made by Bleu Salt. It’s made from wood and feels like cashmere.

What’s a sewing skill or technique you’re really proud of learning?
I just learned piecing. You use it for quilting. It’s kind of hard to explain, but I am having fun making holiday gifts.

If someone your age wanted to start sewing, what advice would you give them?
Well I would say practice makes perfect! You just have to do it a lot and you will get better and better.

What’s your dream project—something you really want to make one day?
I would like to make a dress for Arianne Grande. I also want to show some of my swim dresses in an ocean shoot where the waters are very clear and pretty! And one day I want to work with Gucci.

How does it feel to inspire so many people with your creativity and passion?
I am very grateful for the opportunity to inspire people. I think it’s nice if my work makes them happy. I like to make people feel beautiful. It makes me happy to see them happy.

As Max continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in fashion, one thing is certain—he’s not just designing clothes; he’s shaping the future of the industry and is an inspiration to so many others out there that hard work, and a lot of practice is key.

We can’t wait to see what he dreams up next.
